MonashHealth Clinical Toxicology Unit and the VAMPIRE Toxicology Network
The Clinical Toxicology / Addiction Medicine Unit based at Dandenong Hospital, Monash Health is one of the two TAPNA accredited Toxicology Units in Victoria.
The unit provides 24 hour in-patient, bed-side and consultation toxicologic treatment and management advice to all Monash Health Campuses
The unit is staffed by consultant clinical toxicologists and addiction medicine specialists and provides opportunity for training in clinical toxicology and addiction medicine for specialty trainees in emergency medicine and other acute care medical specialties.
The Monash Health Clinical Toxicologists, with a number of other Australian Clinical Toxicologists, also provide consultative on-call services to the Victorian and NSW Poisons Information Centres.
Monash Health Toxicology Unit collaborates with the Austin Health Toxicology Service and the Victorian Poisons Information Centre. The Services combine to form the VICTORIAN AUSTIN-MONASH POISONS INFORMATION RESEARCH AND EDUCATION (VAMPIRE) NETWORK.
