PAEDIATRIC FRACTURE MANAGEMENT

Picture
Paediatric fracture patterns, assessment and management differ from adult patients. It is easy to over treat paediatric fractures, and unnecessarily refer on to the orthopaedic team, or occasionally not recognise a specific paediatric pattern.

The Victoria Paediatric Orthopaedic Network has comprehensive guidelines for fracture identification, classification and management available through the RCH website.

Under the education tab on the RCH site there is an excellent education module that is well worth doing.

Below is an educational presentation provided by the Victorian Paediatric Orthopaedic Network that is highly recommended reading.
