Topics included in the course are: • Vascular access and line insertion • CPR, defibrillation and advanced cardiac life support • External pacing As well as the technical knowledge and skill required to manage complex cardiac events, ACE emphasizes the importance of human factors skills; such as leadership, teamwork, and effective communication, which are known to contribute to improved patient safety.

TRAC provides participants from critical care specialties with a shared template for the management of the unanticipated difficult airway. Along with practising the technical skills necessary for advanced airway management, participants will explore the human factors skills vital for effective team performance. • TRAC uses a blended learning approach to improve airway planning and intubation skills. The program incorporates videos, discussions, clinical workshops and simulation to explore the topics of rapid sequence induction (RSI) and non-surgical and surgical techniques to safely manage the unanticipated difficult airway.
