Emergency Medicine Education at Monash Health
Monash Emergency runs a comprehensive teaching timetable on Wednesdays. We have regular general and small group teaching as well as targeted teaching for HMOs, primary exams, fellowship exams and those registrars about to transition from junior to senior positions. In addition there are skills days run quarterly,
Lunch is provided 1200 - 1230 outside lecture theatre 2
Primary exam preparation course. These sessions are for trainees who are planning to sit the ACEM primary exam in the next 12 months. Participants are expected to be engaged in significant personal study.The sessions run from 09.00 - 11.00 each week except for skills days. Seminar room 2

Core EM is designed for junior registrars. It covers the entire ACEM curriculum over a 2 year period. Session run 10.00 - 12.00 in Seminar room 1
Coordinator - Parya
Transitional teaching. This is a 6 months course for trainees who are ready to step up to a leadership role in the ED. This generally involves running a stream with back up from a SR. The course runs on ALTERNATE weeks 10.00-12.00 meet at lecture theatre 2.

Pediatric teaching is specifically for PEM trainees and ACEM trainees currently in the paed ED. The sessions run 10.00- 14.00 in seminar room 3

Pre fellowship is a 12 month course for senior registrars who are contemplating starting serious study for the ACEM written exam in the next 12 months.It runs from 10:00 - 12:00 each week. Material will be emailed the week prior to the session and preparation is expected.

Fellowship written course is a 6 month course focused on consolidating knowledge and techniques for the ACEM fellowship written exam. Trainees are required to be successful in their pre fellowship course to be eligible to be part of the teaching. Weekly private study is an essential component of the preparation. Sessions are in the SSU meeting room 10.00-12.00.
